Pictures to Video
Creating a video montage with pictures is a great way to share memories with family and friends. Delivered on DVD and VHS tape, your montage will be enjoyed now and cherished for many years to come.

The most difficult task is deciding where to begin. Collecting the photos to be used is usually the most time consuming. Choose a wide variety of pictures representing different locations and scenes. School photos are good, but more personal, candid shots are better. Any picture that "tells a story" is best, such as a birthday party, birth of a child, graduation, etc.

We suggest putting the photos in chronological order. It's easier for the viewer to follow the progression of the subject. Also, if the montage is to feature more than one person, such as a bride and groom, it's best not to mix the two. At younger ages, particularly when a group of children are shown, it's difficult to discern "who's who".

It's imperative that we receive your photos in the order you want them to appear. A great way to do this is using numbered yellow sticky notes. You can lay them out on a table and make changes without damaging the photos. We cannot be responsible for putting your photos in chronological order. Write any titles on a numbered piece of paper and put in the appropriate place in your picture order. Also, please remove your pictures from frames. Your photos will be returned to you undamaged, in the same condition they were received.

If you are using digital photos, you can either rename the files in the order to be used, or provide a list with the file names in order. And yes, you may mix digital and paper photos.

Remember, the aspect (shape) of your photo is usually not the same as a TV screen, so some cropping may be necessary

Titles introduce your montage, as well as separate the various parts. You may be tempted to want each picture dated, each person identified or to include funny sidenotes about the scene. We'll be happy to do this for you, but we do not advise it. Words on the screen divert your eye from the picture. Titles of this nature are best left to scrapbooks.

Never write on your photos, even on the back! Ink will offset onto the face of the next picture and ruin them. We may be able to remove the spots on the video, but your photo will be damaged forever.

Music plays an important part in setting the tone of your montage. We have a wide variety of music for you to choose from.

Our full color DVD labels are professinally printed directly onto the disc, no paper labels. We'll be happy to include a picture, drawing or other artwork as part of the disc label.

We like to have your materials at least two weeks before you need it. In special circumstances, we can produce your project with a more immediate turnaround.

Additional copies are available at a modest charge.
